Tri-Star XP + Dual-Load Equalizer
Price:
$59.95

The Tri-Star XP module converts the rear turn signal lights to function as brake and turn signal lights...and now has Running Light Capabilities!

When the brakes are applied, the turn signal lights illuminate. If a turn signal is applied, it has priority over the brake light function on the side that is selected. If the turn signal is canceled and the brakes are still applied, the brake light function of the turn signal lights illuminate steady on.

NOTE:
If your bike does not have a variable load turn signal flasher, a Dual Load Equalizer will be needed for this installation.

Tri-Star XP Features:

  • Adds brake light function to existing  turn signals
  • Dependable Solid-state electronic components.
  • Weather Proof - potted with soft cell technology to prevent wire chaffing and damage.

Tri-Star XP Specifications:

  • Voltage: 12 VDC,
    Negative Ground.
  • Max Load Capacity: 6 amps per left or right channel.
  • Dimension: 2 1/4” L x 1 5/8” W x 5/8” H
  • Mounting: Secure to flat surface with double sided VHB tape (included).

Function Check
Applying the brakes will cause the rear Turn Signals to light as long as the brakes are held. If a turn signal is sent to the rear lights at the same time it will have priority over the brake lights and cause the corresponding light to flash. When the turn signal is canceled the brake light will resume.

DUAL LOAD EQUALIZER:
T
his Dual-Load Equalizer is designed to fix the problem when you have changed your stock directionals to L.E.D. turn signals and they flash quickly or not at all.

NOTE:
The security key light will still be lit on late model Harley-Davidsons equipped with the factory security system even with this Dual-Load Equalizer installed.  However, the security system is still fully functional and cannot be damaged in any way.

NOTE:
If your bike does not have a variable load turn signal flasher, a Dual Load Equalizer will be needed for this installation.

Tri-Star Modulator
Installation Instructions

Installation:

  • Cut the two positive wires powering your rear turn signals in two and splice Tri-Star in-line as pictured to the right.

  • Connect the module to ground and a 12V power supply as pictured below.

  • Splice the red/black wire into a brake light source (this wire should only be energized when the brakes are applied.

  • Circuit Protection: It is highly recommended that the turn signal circuit be protected with a 10 amp fuse or circuit breaker in the power supply lead (orange wire).

  • Circuit Layout: The adjacent wire code and schematic is typical for most installation. Use appropriate gauge wire.

  • Mounting: It is recommended that the module be mounted in a location not subject to extreme heat conditions. It can be mounted with the included double sided adhesive tape or any other suitable means.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Many turn signal systems require the load current provided by the rear turn signal lamps to flash properly. If your turn signals do not work after following the following the above instructions, then add the Dual Load Equalizer as shown in the diagram below. The Dual Load Equalizer provides the current required to make the turn signals flash.  Do not connect a Dual Load Equalizer to the Tri-Star Module outputs (White-Violet or White-Brown) as it is not needed, wastes power and serves no purpose as the Tri-Star has no output current requirements to work properly.
